Hello!  Salam (if you're Muslims!) Thanks for stopping by.

I'm Maira Nguyen (you can also call me Mai) and I love visual storytelling. My work is inspired much by my faith - Islam - and usually focuses on identities, humanity and our relationship with Allah (God).

I've produced several short films, videos and photo essays, some of which have been screened at film festivals (e.g.:Muslim Film Festival, Mosquer Film Festival and Victorian’s Multicultural Film Festival), exhibited at museums and featured in Meld Magazine, Special Broadcasting Service, Australian Broadcasting Service Online and n-Scribe. I was also selected as one of the recipients of 2019 Cinespace Social Cohesion on Screen Writer’s Fellowship, an initiative funded by the Victorian Government.
